Emergency Services Days
31st July - 11am - 2pm
14th August - 11am - 2pm
The aim of these events is to engage with members of both our adult and younger Community and promote the fantastic work all our local services do, providing advice, and some giveaways too. These events were really well attended at Easter and received fantastic feedback. We have chosen the summer holiday to utilise the children being off school and hopefully gaining more footfall.

Publicilty Event
September from monday 16th till 21st of September
Southend Street Pastors are holding a publicilty event at The Forum / Central Library in Elmer Avenue
At Southend Street Pastors we have recently recruited six new Street Pastors to join our expanding and amazing teams. The management team have put together a season of training courses to update our current teams and to train all of our new Street Pastors. Our new members will need to do four core subjects which we will then be able to put into uniform and a commissioning church service which will formerly welcome them into our family of Street Pastors. They will join our more experienced teams as they continue with their training which we spread throughout the year once the core subjects are done we then offer our teams additional training which will support them on the streets of our wonderful city. That will be at their own pace. We have listed details of our courses below and we welcome all of our partners and all voluntary groups in our city and around Essex.

Knife Angel
Southend Street Pastors have been invited to join other groups and partners in Southend. We have this amazing opportunity to promote our ministry alongside the Knife Angel. Southend City Council welcomes The Knife Angel on Monday the 1st of July. The knife angel will be temporarily located at the top of the high street outside the Odeon.
This will offer visitors and residents the opportunity to witness the sculpture up close, and the powerful message it sends. This is an initiative from the community Safety Partnership focusing on the CSP Priorities in particular “Knife enabled serious violence” and focus on change.
Therefore, Southend Street Pastors have been invited which is a fantastic opportunity for us and our partners to promote service areas, whilst most importantly engaging with our children and young people. Southend Street Pastors will join a range of partners and activities going on each day across July.
Aims
We are hoping to plan a day of Reflection which Avril Richards is currently talking to Love Southend with the hope that churches will engage
Dates and Times
Knife Angel comes to Southend on Monday 1st July and stays in Southend until Sunday 28th July which we think will be the day of reflection.
It plans to have many events each day from 9 am To 5 pm we have been asked to see if we can arrange for our teams to engage with our community each day through July between the times above. We will have our publicity material and equipment hopefully each day This will give us a great opportunity to engage with our communities. I am currently putting together a spreadsheet could I ask you all to let me or Debbie know if you are interested and able to help by letting us know what times and days you can help?
Aim of the events
This is an ideal opportunity due to the increased footfall the knife Angel will bring to our amazing City Centre. These events aim to promote the service areas of all our partners, working together to reduce knife-enabled serious violence.
Welfare Area
A welfare area will be available for use for anyone who may be affected by knife angels and for all of our partners, for any engagement activities with our young people.
Below are comments from the community of Walsall
1, “ The knife Angel has provided a platform for the community to come togather and have difficult conversations around the issues of knife crime facing society.
2, When I visited the Monument during its stay, it is hard to describe the feelings it evoked.
3, I believe the angels presence will leave a lasting legacy in the borough / City which we must now act upon for a better future.
