Last Saturday was Southend City Day—a celebration of Southend becoming a city.
We were there alongside many wonderful local businesses, charities, and organizations to promote and celebrate with the Southend community.
Southend Street Pastors set up a display in the Royals Shopping Centre, where our Prayer Pastors spoke with the community about the work we do to serve Southend and its people. It was a beautiful, sunny day, which made the event even better.
We connected with many fellow charities and organizations, which is always a great bonus—learning who else is supporting people and different sectors in Southend.
There were also fantastic performances on the stage from local dance troupes and musicians. It’s always great to see a community uplift and support local arts and performances, as well as provide space for painters and artists to showcase their skills.
Overall, it was a wonderful day of community, connection, and spreading the word about the work of the Southend Street Pastors.
